HSE Mirror Laboratories

The aim of the study is to develop models of interaction of economic agents in different regions of Russia, taking into account the heterogeneity of behavioral aspects of decision-making identified by methods of experimental economics, and to explain on their basis various economic phenomena, in particular, arising in different regions of economic and political institutions. It is also planned to create more effective economic mechanisms based on the results obtained, taking into account the patterns of behavior of real people that are not always explained by the neoclassical theory.

The objectives of the project include: the creation of a laboratory base in the FEFU SHEM, as well as the training of researchers in the field of experimental and behavioral economics who will be able to carry out world-class research, including jointly with a similar HSE laboratory; conducting a series of laboratory experiments at the university base and research on their basis of the values of participants, the level of trust, readiness for competition and cooperation, depth of reflection, speed of learning, etc.; conducting field experiments on a wide sample of participants from various social groups and regions, which, on the one hand, is rarely practiced in this kind of research, and on the other hand, allows much better identification of the features of their behavior; application of the results obtained in the development of effective economic mechanisms; introduction of experiments into the practice of economic education.
